| October 5, 2008 - Art in the Park @ Dinosaur Caves |
Art in the park @ Dinosaur Caves is proud to announce its third year of promoting local artisans of the Central Coast. This once a month event takes place at Dinosaur Caves Park in Shell Beach along the path where the ocean meets the cliffs. The event takes place the first Sunday of every month May through October with over seventy local artists and craftsmen selling and displaying their work. The art include paintings, sculpture, pottery, glass artist, textile, jewelry, wood and metal furniture, and much more. Along with the sale of fine arts, the event offers live music, hands-on children's activities, fresh flowers and plants, BBQ, and on-site massage. | October 25, 2008 - Pumpkins on the Pier |
The special Halloween celebration, “Pumpkins on the Pier,” will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Pismo Beach Pier. A Trick or Treat Extravaganza will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in local downtown businesses. If it rains, the event will be held at the Shell Beach Veteran's Memorial Building, 230 Leeward Street.
Children 12 and under can participate in a costume contest, pumpkin decorating contest, and watch a magic show by Dr. Magic. There will be ongoing crafts, games, a balloon typhoon, and a lot of excitement. The costume contest for the most original, prettiest, and scariest costumes will start at 12:30 p.m. An adult costume contest will follow.
The City of Pismo Beach Recreation Division and the Pismo Beach Business Improvement Group (B.I.G.) sponsor this event. It is offered free to the community. For more information, contact Pismo Beach Recreation at 805-773-7049. |
